We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Solon, Ohio on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is well suited for an accounting specialist who enjoys supporting both day-to-day financial activity and broader cost accounting functions. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across accounts payable, inventory-related accounting, close processes, and budgeting while partnering closely with accounting leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable activities with accuracy and timeliness, including invoice review, coding, and payment support.
Perform cycle count reconciliation and assist with inventory accounting to help maintain reliable financial and operational records.
Support cost accounting processes by analyzing product and inventory-related data and identifying variances that require follow-up.
Contribute to month-end and year-end close procedures by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and organizing supporting documentation.
Assist with budgeting activities by gathering financial information, updating reports, and helping leadership evaluate spending trends.
Partner with the Controller on daily accounting priorities and provide support for special projects and reporting needs.
Maintain accurate records within the ERP system and help ensure transactions are recorded consistently across accounting workflows.
Requirements:
3+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to cost accounting or inventory-related accounting functions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
equivalent practical experience may be considered.
Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing and account reconciliation.
Working knowledge of inventory management, including cycle counts and inventory variance review.
Familiarity with month-end close, year-end close, and budgeting processes.
Experience using ERP systems such as Epicor or a comparable platform.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take initiative beyond core responsibilities.
