Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role offers the opportunity to work closely within the construction industry, focusing on financial operations, analysis, and reporting. Job Responsibility:

Oversee job costing processes to ensure accurate allocation of expenses to projects
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including reconciliation and reporting
Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making and provide insights into project performance
Utilize the Viewpoint Vista system to streamline accounting operations and ensure data accuracy
Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and control costs effectively
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities
Address ad hoc financial analysis requests to support ongoing business needs

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on the construction industry
Proficiency in using the Viewpoint Vista accounting software
Strong knowledge of job costing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation
Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and present findings clearly
Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
