Job Description:

Robert Half Talent Solutions is partnering with an Illinois employer looking for a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing transactional processes, and supporting overall financial operations in compliance with accounting standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements—in accordance with accounting standards
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely in the general ledger
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections
  • Perform bank statement and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual results against targets
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of effective internal control procedures to protect company assets
  • Provide documentation and explanations to support internal and external audit processes
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, or areas for process improvement
  • Participate in special accounting projects and initiatives as assigned by senior team members or management
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance function

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
