Our client is looking to fill the role of Staff Accountant. The duties below are intended to describe the specific nature and level of duties assigned to this job. May perform other duties as assigned. A portion of this role will be compliance reporting, inventory reporting and general accounting. The role is open due to employee getting promoted, tons of growth opportunities here as well.
Job Responsibility:
Support the physical inventory, conducting monthly raw materials and bulk inventory cycle counting
Assist in the preparation of monthly inventory reporting
Assist with preparation of monthly federal and state compliance reports
Reconcile raw materials accounts with G/L and subsidiary ledgers
Assist with defective and damaged material returns and credits processing
Assist accounts payable team with guidance on issues and help record any necessary corrections in the system
Ensure proper raw material consumption, Overhead allocations, & Excise Tax allocations
Assist the Accounting Manager in reviewing and updating overhead and labor allocations when needed
Support the team in any policy documentation and compliance
Record journal entries and prepare reconciliations as necessary for financial close process
Perform ad hoc tasks and analysis as necessary to support accounting team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business required
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting systems
General knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
Ability to work independently as well as be part of a dynamic team
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Strong organizational, planning and communication skills
Demonstrated skill in critical thinking, problem solving, and analysis
