Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Goose Creek, South Carolina. In this newly established role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and reconciliations
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting
Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing detailed reports to management
Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and accounting standards
Support audits by gathering necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data
Generate financial statements and reports for stakeholders
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies to ensure accuracy

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience in general accounting practices
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and government contracting regulations
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
