Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will manage key accounting tasks and ensure the accuracy of financial records for our real estate and property management operations. This position requires a strong ability to analyze financial data, collaborate with team members, and handle multiple priorities effectively. They are in the property management industry.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and post accrual-based or cash-based journal entries as required
  • Analyze financial statements to identify and explain significant discrepancies
  • Collaborate with site staff and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate coding and reclassification of expenses
  • Review accounts receivable and resident ledgers to ensure proper documentation and resolution of issues
  • Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate records
  • Compile and complete quarterly management report packages for lender submission
  • Process and reconcile mortgage statements to ensure timely payments
  • Manage the processing and recording of real estate taxes, school taxes, and building insurance bills

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with bank reconciliations and tax filings at local, state, and federal levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects
  • Familiarity with general ledger, journal entries, and corporate tax processes
  • Knowledge of commercial property management and related accounting practices
