We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Pendleton, Indiana. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys managing core financial activities, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a smooth close process. Job Responsibility
Record accounting activity through journal entries, accruals, and other necessary adjustments to keep financial data current and accurate
Contribute to monthly and annual closing cycles by preparing support schedules, reviewing balances, and helping complete deliverables on time
Perform reconciliations across general ledger accounts, bank activity, and subsidiary records to identify and resolve inconsistencies
Provide backup support for payables and receivables tasks when needed to help maintain steady daily finance operations
Organize and maintain accounting files, transaction records, and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards
Assist with preparing financial reports and reviewing fluctuations in account activity to highlight meaningful variances
Follow established accounting procedures and internal control expectations to promote accuracy and compliance
Partner with colleagues across departments to investigate exceptions, correct errors, and clarify financial information
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
At least five years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or comparable role
Solid working knowledge of general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end close responsibilities
Experience using enterprise accounting or ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or similar systems
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with tools such as PivotTables and lookup functions
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling financial information
Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, corporate tax return work, journal entries, and general ledger processes is preferred
