Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract-to-permanent opportunity in Beachwood, Ohio. This role is ideal for an accounting detail oriented with strong general ledger experience, solid analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts
  • Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
  • Help maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
  • Support audit requests and assist with documentation preparation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
  • Experience with month-end close
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a mid-sized company environment
  • ERP system experience such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • CPA track or public accounting exposure
