Job Description:

This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial reporting and analysis within the retail food industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a proven ability to manage complex financial data and processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Evaluate, review, and post month-end expense accruals to ensure accurate reporting of company expenditures
  • Conduct thorough monthly flux analysis on balance sheet and profit-and-loss accounts for executive management
  • Analyze company contracts, including acquisitions, divestitures, and IT agreements, to assess their accounting impacts
  • Reconcile high-volume general ledger accounts and oversee the month-end close process, including preparing and entering accruals
  • Record outstanding liabilities for significant company expenses while adhering to compliance standards
  • Collaborate with department leaders to confirm the accuracy of accrued expenses and ensure proper documentation
  • Review month-end close checklists to prevent duplication or omission in financial entries
  • Manage the reversal process for general ledger balances to maintain financial accuracy
  • Ensure recurring expenses are appropriately accrued by service month
  • Address inquiries from management regarding profit-and-loss accrual entries and financial variances

Requirements:

  • Expertise in journal entries and general ledger management
  • Proficiency in month-end close processes and account reconciliation
  • Strong skills in profit-and-loss calculations and balance sheet analysis
  • Experience with bank account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
  • Advanced knowledge of accrual accounting principles
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, preferably Oracle
  • Ability to analyze financial trends, variances, and estimates with precision
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
