Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting various accounting functions. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellence in financial management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and record journal entries with precision, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, maintaining organized records
  • Process vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and customer payments efficiently
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to optimize financial planning
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to uphold compliance standards
  • Provide support during audits by gathering required documentation and facilitating the process
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on corporate tax returns and general ledger management
  • Proficient in preparing and posting journal entries
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation processes and practices
  • Demonstrated experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis methodologies
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with a solid understanding of financial principles
