Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Sioux City, Iowa. In this role, you will collaborate with various accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, to ensure accurate and timely financial processing. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational needs, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Job Responsibility:

Process customer payments and prepare detailed billing reports for distribution
Manage the purchase order procurement process to ensure accurate material tracking
Record daily and monthly journal entries with proper supporting documentation
Reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger and verify the accuracy of entries
Analyze product costs, resolve discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date database systems
Handle accounts payable tasks, including payment processing and contract administration
Support month-end and year-end financial close processes with detailed reconciliations
Collaborate with operations management to provide accounting and financial analysis
Assist in developing and enhancing accounting controls and procedures
Participate in special financial projects and ensure confidentiality in all tasks

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with a focus on accounting
At least two years of progressive experience in accounting roles
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain high ethical standards

Nice to have:

Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle Business Intelligence, or similar software
Previous experience in manufacturing, liquid terminals, or construction industries
