We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a finance team in Roseville, Minnesota. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and helps maintain accurate financial records across payables, receivables, payroll, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
Job Responsibility
Oversee incoming and outgoing financial transactions, ensuring accounts payable and accounts receivable activities are completed accurately and on schedule
Coordinate disbursements to suppliers and serve as a reliable point of contact to support effective vendor relationships
Administer bi-monthly payroll and manage timekeeping records in accordance with company guidelines and applicable labor requirements
Maintain the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries that support complete and accurate financial statements
Assist with corporate and sales tax compliance activities, including the preparation and review of required filings and supporting documentation
Complete bank reconciliations and analyze balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
Contribute to month-end close activities and help prepare financial reports for management review
Develop, update, and refine standard operating procedures to strengthen consistency and efficiency within accounting processes
Participate in additional assignments and special projects that support broader finance and operational objectives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
Demonstrated experience in staff accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close support
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bi-monthly payroll processing
Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related compliance responsibilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities within established deadlines
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and external partners
Nice to have
Experience using accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains is preferred
