Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting knowledge and experience in managing financial transactions, reconciliations, and tax-related tasks.

Job Responsibility:

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
Manage credit card processing and ensure timely expense reporting
Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data
Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy
Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts to support financial reporting
Prepare corporate tax returns and manage sales tax filings
Record journal entries to reflect financial activities and adjustments
Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
Support the organization with expense management and cost analysis

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with a focus on detail-oriented work
Proficiency in corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation
Solid understanding of general ledger management and journal entries
Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records
Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members
Familiarity with expense management and credit card processing
