Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting division is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join client on a long term contract, possible contract to hire basis in Reno, Nevada. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions, including audit preparation and oversight of accounts payable and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment, managing day-to-day accounting tasks while supporting the department’s restructuring efforts.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing and vendor management
Oversee payroll functions to ensure accurate and timely execution
Prepare for upcoming audits by organizing financial records and ensuring compliance
Handle cash flow processes, including payment tracking and reconciliation
Enter and maintain accurate journal entries to support the general ledger
Support order entry tasks and maintain accurate records through to vendor management
Collaborate with the team to improve accounting processes
Assist with corporate tax return preparation and related tasks
Contribute to maintaining the overall accuracy and integrity of financial data
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll oversight
Familiarity with audit preparation processes and financial compliance standards
Strong skills in journal entries and general ledger management
Understanding of corporate tax returns and related procedures
Ability to work independently and adapt to a hands-on accounting environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
