Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract to hire basis in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will take charge of key financial operations, including managing accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with leadership and contribute to the organization’s financial success while maintaining operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions to ensure accurate financial transactions
Prepare detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support financial planning
Coordinate audits and financial reviews in collaboration with external auditors
Monitor and manage cash flow, including vendor payments and collections
Reconcile credit card transactions and create journal entries for cash accounts
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiencies
Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making

Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Expertise in bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
Leadership skills to effectively supervise and motivate accounting staff
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, for interactions requiring attention to detail
Familiarity with cash flow management and financial forecasting techniques
