Staff Accountant

• Set up new projects in MAS500 based on contract values provided by sales personnel
• Maintain project data, including change orders, in Sage software throughout the project lifecycle
• Monitor and update cost and revenue forecasts to support financial reporting at both divisional and corporate levels
• Process purchase orders, manage accounts payable, and foster vendor relationships
• Handle project invoicing, payment applications, and accounts receivable management, including receiving and adjusting payments
• Reconcile multi-family project accounts and prepare monthly profit recognition reports
• Manage sales tax processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Document accounting procedures related to Sage and assist with employee training
• Perform general ledger reviews, post journal entries, and reconcile bank accounts
• Oversee credit card transactions and ensure timely posting of expenses

• Proven experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and construction accounting
• Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software and MAS500
• Familiarity with managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger
• Ability to create accurate journal entries and reconcile financial accounts
• Previous experience with lien waivers and project accounting within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and forecasting
• Effective communication skills for vendor and team collaboration

Knowledge of Procore software is a plus
