Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Milford, Connecticut. This is a Contract-to-permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key accounting processes while growing your career. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, and intercompany accounting.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end close activities
Perform timely reconciliations of intercompany balances and investigate any discrepancies
Calculate, confirm, and process intercompany settlement amounts
Create detailed account reconciliations and analyses to ensure accuracy
Generate ad hoc reports and respond to inquiries from management and auditors
Monitor and report daily cash transactions
Manage daily wire transfers and ensure timely processing
Set up vendor and customer refunds in the system
Distribute daily accounts receivable aging reports and maintain AR scorecards.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including month-end close and account reconciliation
Familiarity with intercompany accounting processes is essential
Proficiency in Oracle is preferred
experience with other accounting software like NetSuite or QuickBooks is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with in-office presence twice a week
Competency in Excel, including updating macros, is highly desirable.
