Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Montgomery, Alabama. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, supporting the company's financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. Job Responsibility:

Conduct heavy data entry to support key financial functions
Perform fixed asset accounting and maintain accurate records
Process accounts receivable and post cash transactions promptly
Handle accounts payable tasks and ensure timely payments
Prepare and enter journal entries to support financial reporting
Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts to ensure proper balance
Review and adjust approximately 30 entries for accuracy and completeness

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proficiency in basic Excel for data management and reporting
Experience with journal entries and general ledger accounting
Understanding of sales tax and corporate tax return processes
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to adapt to a flexible yet detail-oriented work environment
Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn

Nice to have:

Previous experience with adjusting entries and reconciliations
