Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely payments and collections
  • Perform month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and accurate
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain transparency in financial records
  • Assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and supporting audit requests
  • Analyze variances in financial data to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint software for efficient management of accounting tasks
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations by preparing and submitting accurate reports
  • Monitor the general ledger to ensure all transactions are properly recorded
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, with a proven track record of success
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software and a solid understanding of its functionalities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, general ledger, and financial reconciliations
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes
  • Ability to prepare for audits and conduct variance analysis with precision
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Familiarity with sales tax regulations and compliance requirements
