Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including timely payments and collections
Perform month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and accurate
Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain transparency in financial records
Assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and supporting audit requests
Analyze variances in financial data to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations
Utilize Deltek Costpoint software for efficient management of accounting tasks
Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations by preparing and submitting accurate reports
Monitor the general ledger to ensure all transactions are properly recorded
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, with a proven track record of success
Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint software and a solid understanding of its functionalities
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, general ledger, and financial reconciliations
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes
Ability to prepare for audits and conduct variance analysis with precision
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Familiarity with sales tax regulations and compliance requirements
