Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Waunakee, Wisconsin, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital accounting functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of corporate tax, payroll processes, and general ledger management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Manage sales tax filings and maintain accurate records of transactions
  • Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of journal entries to ensure financial accuracy
  • Oversee the general ledger, maintaining detailed and organized accounts
  • Administer full-cycle payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Handle month-end closing procedures, including reporting and account reconciliation
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing
  • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures
  • Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing
  • Familiarity with month-end closing processes and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
