Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven Staff Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. As part of a non-profit organization, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth within a mission-driven environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, verifying the accuracy of transactions
  • Compile and analyze financial reports to provide insights into organizational performance
  • Ensure proper budget management by monitoring expenditures and providing recommendations
  • Handle non-profit-specific financial tasks, including compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes and maintain organized records
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in auditing processes and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient accounting practices
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling sensitive financial data

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in budget management and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with tax laws and regulations specific to non-profit organizations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced mathematical skills
  • SAGE Intaact required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
