Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Disputanta, Virginia. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide expertise and training in accounting practices while supporting various financial operations. The role requires strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

Train team members on QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Teams to enhance their proficiency and efficiency
Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulations
Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records
Conduct detailed journal entries to support financial reporting and analysis
Handle sales tax processes, including preparation and submission, to meet required deadlines
Provide guidance on best practices for corporate tax strategies and planning
Collaborate with internal staff to improve financial workflows and systems
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions
Ensure all accounting practices adhere to industry standards and legal requirements

Requirements:

Proven experience in corporate tax, including preparation and filing of returns
Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and processes
Expertise in managing and reconciling general ledger accounts
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to perform accurate and detailed journal entries
Solid knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
Excellent communication and training skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
