Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the overall accounting functions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting principles and excellent analytical skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
  • Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submission of payments
  • Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring consistency and precision
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial statements
  • Conduct regular audits to verify financial data and identify discrepancies
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Monitor and interpret financial trends to recommend improvements in accounting operations
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax regulations
  • Experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
