Job Description:

We are partnering with a construction company in Westchester County, New York, they are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position offers the opportunity to support our ongoing projects and contribute to the organization’s financial success.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal postings
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Support accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and regular financial reporting
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Collaborate with project managers and other teams on cost-tracking and budget management
  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Aid in the maintenance and implementation of ERP systems and process improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 1+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or project-based environments
  • Proficiency with large ERP systems (open to experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices
  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of other common business software
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
