Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Harbor, Ohio. As part of a small yet dynamic company, you will play a key role in managing financial operations while contributing to process improvements and enhancing efficiencies. Job Responsibility:

Enter and process invoices with accuracy and timeliness
Post cash transactions and reconcile accounts to ensure financial records are balanced
Manage payroll functions and assist with month-end closing activities
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial data in a small-town environment
Analyze purchasing practices and recommend cost-saving opportunities
Prepare financial reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making
Develop metrics and tools to improve financial processes and inventory management
Identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined procedures
Collaborate with team members to ensure clear communication and problem resolution
Utilize accounting software and Excel for efficient data management and reporting

Requirements:

Experience with journal entries, general ledger, and T accounts
Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure financial data is accurate and complete
Excellent communication skills to address issues and resolve discrepancies effectively
Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and basic Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP
Ability to adapt to new systems and processes with a proactive mindset
Willingness to learn inventory accounting and contribute to cross-functional improvements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred, but not required
