Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a keen eye for detail.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Manage sales tax filings and address related issues to ensure adherence to state and local tax laws
  • Record and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial data
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports to assist in decision-making processes
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to uphold data accuracy
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments to company practices
  • Provide support to senior accounting staff and other departments as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing
  • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance procedures
  • Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger records
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and generate meaningful reports
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
