Staff Accountant

• Manage collections and accurately post receivables while ensuring timely reconciliation
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, including statements for executive review
• Compile year-end trial balances, profit and loss statements, and complete financial records for annual reporting
• Develop expertise in construction accounting, including retention processes and utilizing Spectrum software
• Support bank account reconciliations across 18 accounts to ensure accuracy and free up resources for senior finance staff
• Perform reconciliations of receivables and payables to the general ledger
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance to streamline financial processes and reporting
• Maintain organized and precise records to support audits and compliance requirements

• Proven experience with journal entries and general ledger accounting
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes
• Familiarity with construction accounting practices and retention processes is preferred
• Proficiency in using Spectrum software or the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
