Staff Accountant

• Reconcile a wide range of balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date
• Investigate variances, aged items, and historical accounting issues to identify root causes and drive resolution
• Prepare, review, and record journal entries related to adjustments, corrections, and ongoing accounting activity
• Examine high volumes of financial information to detect inconsistencies and improve data reliability across the general ledger
• Contribute to accounting process improvements and provide support for operational changes affecting financial workflows and reporting
• Use advanced Excel tools to sort, analyze, and reconcile complex datasets efficiently
• Collaborate with accounting and finance partners to strengthen reporting accuracy and maintain consistency in account analysis
• Communicate reconciliation results, accounting treatment, and process findings clearly to team members and stakeholders
• Provide hands-on accounting support during a period of organizational change while helping establish stronger controls and accountability

• Proven experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and preparing journal entries in a detail-oriented accounting environment
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger activity, account analysis, and balance sheet review procedures
• Advanced Excel capabilities, including PivotTables, formulas, and data query or analysis functions
• Experience working with ERP systems
• exposure to SAGE, Microsoft Dynamics, or a similar mid-market platform is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to interpret incomplete, disorganized, or high-volume financial data with accuracy and sound judgment
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and adapt within a changing business environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts and guide others through findings
