We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial activities of a full-service hotel in Universal City, California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is well suited for someone building an accounting career and eager to gain hands-on experience in hospitality finance. In this role, you will help maintain accurate records, process routine transactions, and assist the accounting team with reporting and administrative support.
Job Responsibility:
Record invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial activity in accounting systems with a high level of accuracy
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoice handling and transaction tracking
Help enter budget information and assist with maintaining forecast and revenue data under guidance from the finance team
Organize and maintain electronic and paper financial files so documentation is easy to access for audits and internal review
Prepare basic financial summaries, such as daily revenue updates, expense listings, and other routine accounting reports
Complete administrative support duties for the department, including scanning, filing, and document management
Work closely with accounting staff to follow hotel financial procedures and maintain compliance with established standards
Assist with additional finance and office support activities as needed to meet departmental priorities
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in accounting support, data entry, bookkeeping, or a related administrative function
High school diploma or equivalent required
additional coursework or an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and general financial recordkeeping
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks
exposure to M3 is helpful but not required
Strong accuracy and attention to detail when entering and reviewing financial information
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced hospitality or service-driven environment
Basic understanding of accounting principles along with solid organizational, time-management, and communication skills
