Job Description:

We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Granville, Ohio. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position, ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting and familiarity with the construction industry. The role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in financial processes while contributing to a dynamic organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support quarter-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review purchase orders and contracts to confirm compliance with company policies
  • Set up new projects in the accounting system with attention to detail
  • Manage collections, invoicing, and cash receipts efficiently to maintain cash flow
  • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Conduct in-depth research on chargebacks to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Handle billing processes, including AIA billing documentation, with precision
  • Leverage advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and reports
  • Collaborate with teams to streamline accounting operations and improve system functionality

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounting tasks such as journal entries and general ledger management
  • Knowledge of quarter-end closing procedures and financial statement analysis
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and related accounting practices
  • Proficiency in AIA billing and handling related documentation
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and resolve complex financial discrepancies
  • Experience working with accounting systems, preferably within the construction sector
