The Staff Accountant will play a key part in supporting the Finance team by managing daily accounting operations, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. Job Responsibility:
Process daily accounting transactions, including cash receipts, deposits, invoice reviews, and maintaining organized financial records
Prepare and post journal entries, assisting with month-end and year-end close activities, as well as audits
Reconcile general ledger accounts such as accrued liabilities, reserves, and bank accounts to ensure accuracy
Develop and analyze financial reports using spreadsheets, verifying data for integrity and reliability
Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance
Provide administrative support to finance managers, ensuring confidentiality and efficiency in handling tasks
Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed
Support transitions or upgrades to accounting systems, ensuring a smooth and effective implementation process
Requirements:
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general ledger management
Experience with journal entry preparation and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software
Strong analytical skills for financial reporting and data verification
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and compliance
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
