Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to year-end financial processes, ensuring accurate and efficient closeout procedures. The role requires working on-site for three days a week, with full on-site presence during the first week.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and execute year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare audit documentation and support audit readiness activities to meet compliance standards
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including tracking and reconciliation
  • Assist with lease accounting and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Perform general ledger maintenance and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Create and post journal entries for various transactions and adjustments
  • Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and improve financial processes
  • Ensure documentation for financial activities is organized and accessible for review
  • Support the team by providing detailed financial analysis and reporting
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks

Requirements

  • Previous experience in year-end closing processes and audit preparation
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting and lease accounting principles
  • Proficiency in managing general ledger and posting journal entries
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
