Staff Accountant

• Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations related to healthcare operations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions with a focus on healthcare-specific transactions
• Analyze and reconcile patient billing and collections
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GAAP, and internal policies)
• Work collaboratively with revenue cycle and clinical teams to ensure proper posting and reporting of patient care revenues
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
• Assist with external audits and provide documentation as needed
• Identify process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Strong understanding of healthcare billing, insurance payments, and revenue cycle processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Epic, Meditech, or similar healthcare systems a plus)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and healthcare regulatory standards
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
