Job Description:

Our client in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, prepare account reconciliations, and help ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
Maintain and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
Help with accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting
Participate in audits and assist with audit preparation
Identify process improvement opportunities and support accounting initiatives
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Requirements:

Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role
Practical knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
Familiarity with journal entry preparation and general ledger maintenance
Understanding of corporate tax concepts, including support for corporate tax return activities
Experience with sales tax review, reporting, or related compliance tasks
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a Contract position environment
