Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in San Juan Capistrano, California for a Wholesale Distributer of Plumbing Supplies. This Contract position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to contribute to a dynamic accounting environment. The role is in-office and requires expertise in managing financial records and transactions with precision.

Job Responsibility:

Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Manage cash applications, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments
Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to support accurate financial reporting
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, adhering to deadlines
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Respond to inquiries from management and auditors regarding financial data
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation for audit readiness

Requirements:

Proven experience in bank reconciliations and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of journal entries and cash application processes
Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with the General Ledger
Familiarity with accounting standards and principles
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
