Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our client in Columbus, Ohio. This position is in the healthcare and social assistance industry and offers an excellent opportunity for growth, as it is a contract to permanent role. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and the ability to manage a variety of financial tasks with precision and efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all financial data is accurately recorded
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheets on a regular basis
  • Maintain and analyze the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are completed
  • Utilize accounting software, such as Abila MIP, to manage financial data and generate reports
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
  • Monitor and review financial transactions to ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Generate and interpret financial reports to aid in decision-making processes
  • Support pharmacy accounting activities, leveraging industry-specific knowledge
  • Apply advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, for financial analysis and reporting

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger management
  • Strong ability to perform account and bank reconciliations with accuracy
  • Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in using Abila MIP accounting software
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
  • Healthcare or non-profit industry experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of pharmacy accounting is a significant advantage
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
