We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Manage sales tax reporting and filing processes in alignment with state and local requirements
Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger to support accurate financial tracking
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to verify and resolve discrepancies
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data for accounting purposes
Monitor and update tax-related documentation to reflect changes in regulations
Support audits by providing relevant financial information and documentation
Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines in all accounting functions
Requirements:
Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and reporting
Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
Familiarity with financial reconciliation processes and techniques
