We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this Contract to permanent role, you will play a vital part in maintaining financial integrity by overseeing accounting functions, performing complex financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports, ensuring accurate representation of financial data
Monitor and review accounting activities across assigned entities, funds, and properties to ensure compliance with established standards
Reconcile and analyze various accounts regularly, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures as needed
Assist in the preparation and support of audits, including financial and agency audits, ensuring compliance and readiness
Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules, ensuring proper documentation
Develop and implement cost allocation methods to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
Create templates and spreadsheets to facilitate data collection and ensure precise data presentation
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external parties to address financial inquiries and provide necessary support
Participate in special projects and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancies
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and accounting principles while maintaining accurate and timely financial records
Requirements:
Four-year college degree in Finance or Accounting
A minimum of four years accounting experience, including two years of experience working with budgets and producing financial statements
Proficiency in corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns
Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger maintenance
Ability to analyze and reconcile financial statements and accounts with attention to detail
Familiarity with financial reporting requirements for local, state, and federal agencies
Experience with fixed asset management and depreciation schedules
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
