Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a large, fast-paced organization in SE Portland to identify a detail-oriented and technically strong Accountant for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This is an excellent role for someone with experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and complex reconciliations who thrives in a high-volume production environment. This position requires advanced Excel skills and strong technical aptitude, including experience working with large data sets, automation tools, and reporting systems.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and distribute numerous financial reports on a daily basis
Communicate with high-volume customer accounts via phone and email
Perform daily and weekly reconciliations, including credits and funding activity
Research and resolve discrepancies across large data sets
Release and process payments based on customer-specific criteria
Manage payment exceptions and track held payments
Monitor shared inbox and resolve incoming inquiries
Develop and document SOPs to improve workflow efficiency
Support automation initiatives to enhance reporting and communication processes
Progress from debit account management to larger, more complex accounts

Requirements:

Full-cycle accounting experience required
Strong financial reporting experience required
AR analysis and/or credit analysis experience
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required)
Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and/or AI-driven automation tools (required)
Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new systems and databases
Demonstrated experience reconciling high volumes of transactions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet daily deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills (identify, address, correct, and communicate)
Detail oriented written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Reliable attendance and consistency
