Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to provide coverage for a leave of absence within our accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, perform account reconciliations, and help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting, solid systems experience, and the ability to step in quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and subledgers
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Maintain and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting as needed
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and internal reporting
  • Review financial data for accuracy and identify discrepancies
  • Assist with accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
  • Help maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
  • Partner with internal departments to gather information and resolve accounting issues
  • Support ad hoc projects and reporting as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Staff Accountant or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting support
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience providing interim, contract, or leave coverage support
  • Exposure to multiple areas of accounting, including AP and AR
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new processes and systems
