Staff Accountant

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy during the month-end closing process
• prepare necessary documentation to support internal and external audits
• manage monthly grant reporting with precision and attention to detail
• compile financial data to meet external reporting requirements effectively
• analyze financial information to identify key trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• leverage data analytics tools to gain insights from large datasets and present findings to stakeholders
• assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the finance team
• provide management with ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed
• support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including billing and bank reconciliations
• maintain proficiency in financial software systems, and Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data
• proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, including Excel
• effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams
• excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• experience with financial software and systems
• familiarity with accounting functions such as journal entries, general ledger, and month-end close processes
• 1–3 years of industry experience, with knowledge of grant accounting being an advantage
