Job Description:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist with at least 3 years of experience who can support core financial activities with accuracy and consistency. The position will contribute to daily accounting operations, assist with inventory-related tasks, and help maintain a smooth and timely close process. This role offers the chance to build expertise in a fast-paced environment while working closely with accounting and operational teams.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and record journal entries to support accurate financial reporting and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, review of balances, and resolution of discrepancies
Support inventory accounting by tracking annual inventory activity and helping ensure records align with financial data
Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to promote timely and accurate posting
Analyze accounting data in Microsoft Excel to identify trends, verify accuracy, and support routine reporting needs
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain organized financial documentation and ensure accounting processes are completed efficiently
Help monitor day-to-day accounting operations and escalate issues that may affect accuracy, deadlines, or compliance
Utilize accounting software such as Viewpoint Vista when applicable to support transaction processing and reporting requirements

Requirements:

3+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role
Solid understanding of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial information
Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Familiarity with inventory-related accounting processes, including annual inventory support
Experience in the construction or contractor industry is preferred
Exposure to Viewpoint Vista is preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to learn in a hands-on accounting environment
