We are seeking a Staff Accountant (Contract) to support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions for a fast-paced finance team in Newark, CA. This is a hands-on, administrative-heavy accounting role with a strong focus on vendor management, purchase order processing, and contract support.
Job Responsibility:
Process and maintain purchase orders (POs), vendor contracts, and related documentation
Support vendor onboarding, setup, and ongoing vendor communication
Review invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with contracts and POs
Assist with vendor reconciliations and resolve invoice discrepancies
Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
Assist with contract tracking, renewals, and compliance documentation
Support accounts payable processes and internal approvals
Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed
Enter and maintain data in Tyler New World (or similar ERP/accounting systems)
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and vendor records
Support reporting and ad hoc finance-related requests
Requirements:
Accounting, finance, or related educational background or experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable with administrative, process-driven work
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office tools
Willingness and eagerness to learn new software and processes
Nice to have:
Experience with vendor management, purchase orders, or contract administration
Prior exposure to ERP or accounting systems (Tyler New World a plus, not required)
Previous accounting clerk, staff accountant, or finance administrative experience
