Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client’s team in Dallas, Texas on a Contract basis. This position will provide hands-on support across core accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial record accuracy. The role is well suited for someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively in a hybrid environment while partnering closely with the Controller.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily accounting activities by maintaining accurate financial records and supporting routine accounting operations
  • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure the general ledger reflects complete and accurate financial activity
  • Reconcile bank activity for designated accounts and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Use QuickBooks Pro to record transactions, organize accounting data, and support ongoing reporting needs
  • Assist with month-end close tasks, including account review, accrual support, and prepaid expense tracking
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as business needs require
  • Review expense-related documentation and help maintain consistency across supporting financial records
  • Help organize audit support materials and contribute to special accounting assignments requested by the Controller
  • Provide accounting coverage during a staffing transition while helping clean up and maintain orderly records

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Staff Accountant or general accounting role supporting day-to-day accounting functions
  • Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Pro in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Experience completing bank reconciliations with close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and perform effectively with limited onboarding
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial record maintenance
  • Exposure to tax-related accounting such as corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax returns is preferred
  • Availability to work a hybrid schedule in Dallas, Texas, including onsite presence on designated weekdays
