Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Franklin, Massachusetts. This position supports core accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with close activities, and preparing reporting that helps guide business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong journal entry and general ledger experience, along with the ability to manage day-to-day accounting tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
  • Assist with monthly and annual closing activities, including reconciliations and the preparation of financial reports
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts, resolve variances, and research unusual account activity
  • Process and monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting transactions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis by compiling and reviewing financial data
  • Coordinate billing activities, review invoices, and work with vendors to address payment and account questions
  • Assemble reporting packages and organize documentation needed for internal review and external audits
  • Identify accounting process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and overall workflow consistency

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting
  • Proficient in accounting software (they use QuickBooks and NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Soft skills: detail oriented, good communication, analytical, and ability to multi-task
  • Clean resume with limited movement

  • Support with Fixed Asset subledger activities, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation to the GL
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure accuracy of customer information, including reconciling customer accounts
  • Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well-documented, accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Provide backup support for accounting operations as needed
