Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our nonprofit organization in Cumming, Georgia. As a key contributor to the financial team, you will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll functions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and record journal entries in alignment with organizational policies and accounting standards
Reconcile and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger
Process payroll transactions, review payroll entries, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Manage accruals, including monthly and year-end adjustments
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
Support audit processes by ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial reporting requirements
Collaborate with various departments to align financial operations with budgetary goals
Provide financial analysis and insights to guide leadership in strategic decision-making
Utilize accounting software and advanced Excel skills to streamline financial processes

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of general ledger management, journal entries, and accrual accounting
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel capabilities
Experience processing payroll and understanding payroll regulations
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to analyze and solve complex financial issues

Nice to have:

Nonprofit accounting experience
Familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards, including fund accounting
