Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join a dynamic manufacturing company in Portland, Oregon. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to contribute to the organization's financial operations while working remotely. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper period cut-off
Prepare journal entries, including payroll and treasury-related entries, and ensure they are recorded correctly
Conduct high-volume cash reconciliations, primarily on a daily basis
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies that arise
Prepare and record various accruals, including accounts payable, cash, and rate-based accruals
Monitor accounts regularly to identify trends, potential issues, or variances
Support the month-end close process and assist with audits as required
Collaborate closely with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure smooth financial operations
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 for accounting tasks and data management
Leverage strong Excel skills to analyze data and improve accounting processes

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
Solid knowledge of US accounting principles, general ledger processes, and reconciliations
Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
familiarity with food or raw materials manufacturing is a plus
Exposure to payroll accounting, specifically booking payroll entries, is advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365, and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines
