We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This Contract to permanent position offers the opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a dynamic and meticulous environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing corporate tax processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Manage sales tax processes, including calculations and timely submissions
Record journal entries and maintain organized financial documentation
Reconcile the general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity
Review and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end closing activities
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws in all financial operations
Provide detailed reports and analysis to assist in strategic decision-making
Monitor and update tax-related documentation and procedures as regulations evolve
Assist with audits by supplying necessary data and documentation
Requirements:
Proven experience in corporate tax processes and filings
Strong knowledge of sales tax procedures and regulations
Proficiency in preparing accurate journal entries
Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation
Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements effectively
Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in accounting software and tools
