Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily accounting activities for a multi-site commercial property management portfolio, ensuring financial data is complete, timely, and accurate
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close tasks to support reliable financial reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including coding transactions correctly and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Track construction-related expenditures and work-in-progress activity, helping maintain clear visibility into project costs and financial status
  • Analyze financial records to identify inconsistencies, correct errors, and strengthen internal accounting practices across the organization
  • Assist with audits, reporting requests, and supporting documentation by organizing records and responding to financial inquiries efficiently
  • Collaborate with operational and property management teams to ensure expenses, invoices, and allocations are recorded in the appropriate accounts
  • Support accounting process improvements and system-related updates as needed to enhance accuracy and workflow efficiencies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, accrual-based accounting, and month-end close procedures
  • Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable in a fast-paced business environment
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems and transaction coding best practices
  • Ability to perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Background in commercial construction accounting, including work-in-progress tracking or construction cost analysis, is preferred
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing financial documentation with a high level of accuracy
