We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Wright City, Missouri. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a growing organization. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing fixed assets, and supporting leadership with valuable insights and analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and conducting variance analyses to ensure accurate financial statements
Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making for accounting and finance leadership
Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking construction in progress, allocating costs, and calculating depreciation accurately
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transaction coding, approvals, and other accounting processes
Prepare detailed reports and schedules for management and the Board of Directors, ensuring all necessary documentation and insights are included
Reconcile and post cash transactions in accounting systems to maintain accurate records of liquidity and cash flow
Support ad hoc financial projects and analytical initiatives to adapt to the needs of an expanding organization
Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Proven experience in month-end close processes, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including cost allocations and depreciation methods
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and leadership
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Nice to have:
Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and tax return processes is an advantage
