Staff Accountant

• Oversee the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and conducting variance analyses to ensure accurate financial statements
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making for accounting and finance leadership
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking construction in progress, allocating costs, and calculating depreciation accurately
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transaction coding, approvals, and other accounting processes
• Prepare detailed reports and schedules for management and the Board of Directors, ensuring all necessary documentation and insights are included
• Reconcile and post cash transactions in accounting systems to maintain accurate records of liquidity and cash flow
• Support ad hoc financial projects and analytical initiatives to adapt to the needs of an expanding organization
• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Proven experience in month-end close processes, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including cost allocations and depreciation methods
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and leadership
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and tax return processes is an advantage
